Karachi: The theatre hall of Karachi Arts council resounded with hearty laughter and cheers on Tuesday evening as prominent humorist and comic writer Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi shared some of his writings with the public in a programme titled, “Bazaban-e-Yousufi”.
This historical programme was arranged by the Geo Television network.Yousufi gave credit to Geo Television Network which, he said, has introduced Urdu literature to the modern media by telecasting it.
Now not only could the people read their favourite writers but could also listen to them.
He further said that a majority of the people living in Pakistan were not acquainted with their own literature and famous writers. This effort will help a lot in eliminating ignorance regarding the Urdu literature in society.
While talking to The News, TV artiste Sherhyar Zaidi stressed the need for holding of such events frequently since it helped a lot in providing entertainment to the people.
“Moreover we should be proud that we have a person like Yousufi with us. His work for the Urdu literature can never be forgotten,” he further added. (Source: The News)
