ISLAMABAD – A serious row has erupted between Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country’s security agencies over the return of Craig Davis, a Peshawar-based US citizen, believed to be an ex-mercenary of Blackwater, TheNation reliably learnt on Wednesday.
According to sources, Craig Davis, who was found involved in illegal activities in Peshawar last month and eventually left Pakistan, has returned again and resumed his mysterious job raising eyebrows of many, including the country’s spy agencies.
When Foreign Office spokesman was contacted in this regard, he was not available for comments.
The sources said that Davis is associated with Creative Associates International, Inc, a Washington based firm operating out from Peshawar, which is suspected to be a wing of the US private security agency, the Blackwater, headed by the US former vice president Dick Cheney.
The sources said that return of Craig Davis was made possible following series of negotiations between Pakistan’s Foreign Office and the US State Department, thus, causing ripples in Pakistan’s security agencies.
Craig Davis, who has been accused to be holding secret meetings with Taliban, an act of breaching Pakistan’s sovereignty, is using a leased house, CAII, in Peshawar.
The sources further said that a few weeks before the security agencies checked and found him involved in illegal activities, a group of the concerned Pakistani citizens in Peshawar wrote to the Federal Interior Ministry to complain about the suspicious activities of a group of shadowy Americans in a rented house in their neighbourhood.

I read in amazement on this ongoing Craig Davis issue and am astounded by the lack of credible information. I personally know CD , he is an academic, has been working with projects in several countries, could not lift a weapon , let alone fire one ! Surprising that Pheonix provides security to the so called Black water company Creative Associates and has done so for past 3 years – What a laugh ! Have you ever checked for yourselves or is it the case of someone yelling the crow has taken off with your nose , and you chase after the crow ? What is wrong with us ? Why is everything a conspiracy in Pakistan ?
Also equally amazing to me is Mr Nawaz Sharif – The champion of the democracy and the upholder of the legal system ? Now, he is saying that Saudis should keep out of politics and not give any support to Musharraf – What a joker with a toupee ! Did his cronies not storm the Supreme Court building ? Did he not go head to head with the former Chief justice ? Did he not run off to Saudi Arabia like a coward and become a “royal guest” ? How come he has never asked for accountability for the actions of his “god father ” Zia Ul Haq, the man who is probably responsible for most of our ills ? How can anyone take him seriously – Where is the press now ? How can they keep a straight face in the light of these foolish , foolish statements ? Atleast, Zardari faced jail for 7 years and did not run at the first opportunity or first deal his wife could arrange for him !
