LARKANA: Local Police took Hafiza Bhutto into safe custody today after complaint that she was beaten in public by her husband and his brother.
The police then shifted the 30-years-old woman to a women police station in Larkana, Sindh.
Police also arrested four persons on Hafiza’s complaint for publicly beating and attempting to kill her.
Police also registered a case against the arrested men, including husband and a brother of the woman, who was beaten in broad daylight, it has emerged.
Hafiza Bhutto told Geo News that she was tortured by her husband, Rajan Bhutto, whom she married a month ago and left home to live with her parents. Four men, including her husband and brother barged into her parent’s house and forcibly drove her away in a car.
Hafiza said she shouted for help when she saw the police. This infuriated the husband and brother who severely tortured her and then attempted to throw her off into a lake.
Later, police sprung to action and took Hafiza into safe custody before shifting her to a women police station for safety.
Hafiza said she cannot live with her husband anymore and demanded justice from authorities.
