NEW YORK, July 19, 2015 (MAMOSA Report) — The iPhone 6s will be released by Apple in 2015, according to a report, and it is expected to be Apple’s most popular smartphone ever. The iPhone 6 and 6 plus were introduced in 2014.
The Apple iPhone 6s will likely be the most popular smartphone release to date, according to reports.
And Apple has reportedly already ordered units of the iPhone 6s from its manufacturer, meaning the iPhone 6 release date would be in 2015. Some reports say the release could be in September.
That would make the Apple iPhone 6s the world’s most popular smartphone ever, eclipsing demand for the iPhone 6, released from Apple in September 2014. Apple had preorders for the iPhone 6 of more than 4 million in the first day after it was announced last fall.
But the Wall Street Journal reports that Apple’s next iPhone, expected to named the iPhone 6s, will likely be more popular.
“Apple is asking suppliers to manufacture between 85 million and 90 million units combined of two new iPhone models with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays by Dec. 31, according to people familiar with the matter,” the WSJ reported.
The high demand for the Apple iPhone 6s will come despite no major changes. The WSJ reports that “the screen sizes are the same as in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.”
“The shell of the new smartphone is expected to be nearly identical to its predecessor, according to leaked images obtained by 9to5Mac,” reports the International Business Times. “Many of the changes may be more internal than external, beginning with a new processor, an improved camera and increased RAM.
