BE2C2 Report — Six Pakistani companies from autopart and related machinery subsector participated in the three-day Automechanika Middle East exhibition held in Dubai.
These OEMs (Original Equipment Equipment Manufacturers) included 1,955 exhibitors from 57 countries who put up stalls at the 15th edition of the renowned annual automotive show.
Diamond Tyre Limited, Electropolymers, Kolia Corporation, Kortech Auto Industries, Pakistan Accumulators and Volta Dies & Moulds joined the show under the sponsorship of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) while Rastgar Engineering and Royal Tech participated directly.
Pakistan’s automobile sector has continued to witness growth pattern. Except for tractors, all segments registered an exceptional growth during FY16 — 29 percent on year-to-year end basis, according to the State Bank’s economic overview report. Supplementing the sector’s growth pattern is these OEMs sustained value-addition. They are now seeking autopart and automotive export markets in the MENA region as well.
According to the report, the government is establishing Pakistan Automotive Institute (PAI) which will help the industry in research
and education; provide technical guidance relating to quality improvement, safety inspection and environmental preservation; and develop a database covering technical information relating to the automobile industry.
According to reports, more than 32,000 trade visitors from 138 countries made their way to Dubai to see world’s largest automotive fair in the Middle East.
They explored 25 countries’ pavilions which included Germany, Japan, Italy, South Korea, the UK, Spain, Iran, the US and Brazil, reported local media outlets.
