Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa visited troops deployed on the border in Rajgal valley on the first day of Eidul Azha, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
The army chief spend the first day of Eidul Azha with soldiers along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Director General (DG) ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor shared pictures and a video on Twitter of the COAS hugging and talking to the soldiers in valley, where the army recently concluded Operation Khyber-4.
Addressing the troops, the COAS said that there is no greater service than protecting the country on an occasion like Eid.
Gen Bajwa lauded the services of the armed forces and vowed to make Pakistan “the best country in the world”.
“Pakistan is our passion and our life; our lives are for Pakistan,” the army chief was quoted as saying. “Nothing, no one is above country.”
Earlier, in his message to the nation, the army chief had said that Eidul Azha was a message of “peace, happiness, fraternity and selfless sacrifice”.
