Speaking to Saudi media, Asim said, “I am overwhelmed and still can’t get over the love and affection I have received in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I am leaving this place with nothing but good memories. Saudi Arabia hopes to jump-start domestic leisure industry through new entertainment center network.
The government hopes to develop public entertainment, partly because it wants to create jobs and diversify the economy beyond oil exports.
Abdullah al-Dawood, chairman of Development and Investment Entertainment Company (DIEC), said his firm envisaged about 20 centers, each around 50,000 to 100,000 sq meters (540,000 to 1.1 million sq feet), in 14 or 15 cities.
