Huge Cache of Arms, Ammunition Recovered in Karachi

Pakistan’s paramilitary force Rangers Sindh recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a raid in Paposh Nagar neighborhood of Karachi on Saturday.

According to the spokesperson of Sindh Rangers, the weapons had been hidden by the miscreants of MQM London party at one of their units in Pakistan’s financial capital, once considered their stronghold.

Some of therecovered weapons include 7 mm rifle, 9 mm pistol, three SMGs, 12 bore and 30 bore magazines and 1530 rounds of various weapons, report Radio Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Rangers have asked citizens to report any suspicious activity/ package/ vehicle at the Rangers helpline.

27 suspects arrested in raids

In a related note, 27 suspects have been arrested and cache of illegal weapons recovered from their custody in intelligence based operations jointly carried out by paramilitary troops and other law enforcement agencies in Punjab.

In a statement posted on his official social media accounts, the Director General of army’s media wing said the Pakistan Rangers Punjab in coordination with other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) is ensuring maintenance of law and order.

He said the Rangers along with Police have carried out patrolling/flag marches in important areas of major cities and Quick Reaction Forces have been placed near sensitive areas.

“Extensive Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) are being carried out in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Multan, DG Khan, Lahore, Sialkot, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan,” said he.
