Iconic Pakistani singer turned religious scholar Junaid Jamshed is being remembered on his first death anniversary. His nationalistic song “Dil Dil Pakistan” was ranked third among top 10 songs according to BBC World Service in 2003 and was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2007.

Exactly a year ago, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661 carrying 48 passengers and crew crashed on the way to capital Islamabad from Chitral at 4:42pm PST. All on board died, including Junaid Jamshed.

Before leaving for Chitral, Jamshed received his last call from the famed vocalist Ahmed.

Junaid Jamshed exhorted the vocalist to capitalize on his talent in music to bring about good and positive change.

A documentary film based on Jamshed has been released on social media.

The documentary film, “Ansoo”, has been produced and directed by famous Pakistani guitarist and singer Salman Ahmad.

In his statement Salman Ahmad said the idea of documentary film Ansoo has been received from famous Sufi poet Baba Bullay Shah’s poem “Kadi Amil Ya Pyarya”, report APP.

He said ‘Ansoo’ is a celebration of the life and times of Vital Sign”.
