India beat Pakistan in U19 World Cup Cricket semi-final

CHRISTCHURCH: India has beaten Pakistan in the second semi-final of the ICC Under 19 World Cup at Hagley Oval, making its way to the final where it will face Australia on Saturday.

Yesterday, Australia defeated Afghanistan to reach the final.

India, after winning the toss against Pakistan, elected to bat first and put 271 runs on board against a nine-wicket loss. In response, Pakistan were all out for 69 runs after just 21 overs.

India’s Shubman Gill made 102 runs and remained not out, while Manjot Kalra and Prithvi Shaw also contributed 47 runs and 41 runs, respectively.

Pakistani bowler Arshad Iqbal took three wickets against 51 runs while Musa took four against 67. Shaheen Afridi, on the other hand, only took one wicket.

During run-chase, Pakistani batsmen came into pavilion one after another. Rohail Nazeer were the top scorer with 18 runs. Eight players were unable to get into double figures.

India’s Ishan Porel took four wickets in six overs.
