BE2C2 Report — Indian fashion designer Manish Arora presented his colorful fall 2017 collection during Paris Fashion Week in New York on March 2.
Arora’s “Cosmic Love” collection was a heavily adorned explosion of contrasting textures, patchworks and motifs that contrasted African tribal references with a celestial theme.
It was a veritable firework display in celebration of his psychedelic label’s 10th anniversary, The Daily Mail wrote.
Pyrotechnics, planets and shooting stars were printed or embroidered onto sweatshirts, coats and dresses and counterposed with zebra-like and geometric patterns -patch-worked in denim and boiled wool respectively — and diamond-shaped Aztec designs with a Seventies flavor.
Arora styled the collection with African head wraps and an array of pearls that looked to be pierced on his models’ faces, accentuating an overall impression that was less kitsch, although no less lavish, than has been his wont of late.
“…intriguing head pieces,” wrote one fashion critic on the head wraps. A model holding a psychedelic colored handbag for ready to wear fashion collection was an eye-catcher.
Gigi Hadid, who graces the first ever issue of Vogue Arabia, also walked the runway.
