Indian troops in their fresh act of state repression killed two more Kashmiri youth in Pulwama district of Srinagar Sunday.
According to Kashmir Media Services (KMS), the youth were shot dead by the security forces during a cordon and search operation in the area.
The two have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Sheikh and Abid Magray.
The authorities have suspended internet services in Pulwama district following the killings.
As the news about the killings spread, people took to the streets in Samboora and Tahab for protest against the barbaric act.
In a related note, resistance leaders Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement said, terrorism and the freedom movement are poles apart. “By linking Kashmir movement with some global organizations, they (Indian agencies) are planning their roguish activities to influence the international community.
“The peace-loving nations of the world have also acknowledged the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and we are pursuing a peaceful movement for its resolution,” they said. The resistance leaders said, “Indian authorities couldn’t break the emotional bond of freedom among masses hence they feel unnerved.”
They cautioned the Kashmiri people about the deceitful games of India and urged them to follow every program of the joint resistance leadership with persistence and wisdom and exhibit unity among their ranks, report KMS.
The deadly unrest in Indian-held Kashmir, which broke out over the death of separatist militant leader Burhan Wani last year this month, had been simmering with rapid deterioration of law and order in the occupied valley.
