Lahore gets first woman police officer (SHO) in 19 years

Pakistan’s largest province of Punjab has appointed a female police officer for the post of SHO at a police station in its capital Lahore, after a gap of almost two decades.

Police officer Ghazal Sharif was appointed SHO at Rang Mahal police station.

It has been nineteen years since a female police officer was appointed an SHO in the provincial capital which has the highest urban population in the country.

Prior to that, another police officer Bushra Ghani was appointed SHO of Yakki Gate police station nineteen years ago.

The newly appointed SHO has taken charge of her duties, according to local TV channel Dunya News.
