With 28922 international runs, 51 international hundreds, 166 half-centuries, the two greats of Pakistan Cricket, Misbah-ul-Haq and Younus Khan — the duo made for Cricket, walked into the sunset as the last test match against the Windies drew curtain in Dominica.
A Guard of Honor was presented by the Pakistan team, as Misbah and Younis were leaving the field for the last time wrapping up their outstanding career in international cricket.
There were emotional scenes at Roseau Cricket Stadium as the duo walked off to a guard of honor from team-mates.
One tweet said, “Remember going to Watch Inzi’s last Test inn, was in tears when he got out. That was an anticlimax & this
#MisYou series feels like one too.”
Another tweet said, “One day we will tell our grandchildren about today. We will tell them we watched 2 legends bat together and retire together.”
The two batsmen with over 2000 runs after turning 40 are Jack Hobbs and Misbah-ul-Haq.
Khan’s parting shot was “we need a code of conduct for the next generation.”
“It’s end of an era in Pakistan cricket. Misbah and Younis Khan leaving a void that can’t be filled for a long time!,” a twitter aptly said. Thank you.
