Pakistani students build mini car which drives 180km in 1 liter petrol at 30 to 40 kmh

BE2C2 Report — Two Pakistani engineering students have developed a very low mileage car — it can travel up to 180 kilometers in one liter petrol at 30 to 40 kmh speed.

The car is said to be highly efficient as it runs on cutting-edge electronic fuel injection system used in cars and motorcycles.
These students from Sarhad University in Peshawar, showcased the car at the Shell Eco-marathon Asia held in Singapore (February 16-19).

The car’s shape is like a Toy but its capacity is impressive. The car weighs around 80 Kg with an engine capacity of 50 cc.

The experimental car cost 600,000 Rupees, however the students said their car can cost lesser if it is manufactured in bulk.

The project is the first one to be selected in ten years. About 100 teams from different countries in Asia demonstrated their energy-efficient vehicles.

Navy Engineering College (PNEC), NUST manufactured a 3-wheel Prototype and 4-wheel UrbanConcept fuel-efficient eco-friendly car which was capable of covering 150km/1 liter fuel.

Last year, Pakistan’s first formula racing car – developed by students of NUST – was selected as the only team from Asia to participate in the Formula SAE Lincoln 2016 Competition in US.

A group of students from NED University last year presented their formula car at Formula SAE Competition in Italy.
