More than 1.5 million overseas Pakistanis live and work in the Kingdom. Last year they sent home almost $5 billion — the largest chunk from the $14 billion in home remittances received by the Pak government from Pak communities worldwide.
The Pak embassy in Riyadh and its consulate in Jeddah therefore take special interest in looking after the interests and welfare as well as the needs of the Pak community in the kingdom. Two full time Community Welfare Attaches manage the social-responsibility aspect of this community on behalf of the embassy and the government.
Copies of related flyers sent to us are embedded below for any Pakistani expatriate’s review who may be interested in availing the opportunity to book these remaining residential plots.
According to an estimate there are around 7 million Pakistani people living abroad with a vast majority of them residing in the Middle East, Europe and North America, with Saudi Arabia leading in numbers as well as home remittances.
Pakistan ranked 10th in the world in 2012 for home remittances at $15 billion. 2013 estimate may exceed this figure, say some analysts.
OPF has built a number of housing schemes in different cities of Pakistan and continues to undertake such ventures for the overseas Pakistanis.
The goal of OPF housing schemes is to meet the housing needs of overseas Pakistanis and to provide them better living standards and residential facilities for their families living in Pakistan and for them if and when they return.
The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), established in March 1979 operates under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development.
It provides services to its registered members and their families in Pakistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Only overseas Pakistanis and dual nationals can take advantage of these facilities.
OPF also operates schools and colleges across the country which have shown outstanding result as talented and highly qualified teachers have been hired at these educational institutions, says a news report appearing in the Daily Times.
