British pop diva Lady Gaga has been voted as the most listened artist on the Internet in 2009.
Starpulose.com reports, tracks from the star’s 2008 album, The Fame, were played more than 18.5 million times on leading music site Last.fm.
She clocked up six million more plays than American alternative rock band The Killers, which came second in the rundown.
British singer Lily Allen was named the third most popular artist. Other artists earning a spot in the top ten include Kanye West, Green Day and Beyonce.
This good news for Lady Gaga comes as she prepares with her Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour starting Dec 19.
The bad news of the tour is that Kid Cudi punched a fan during a solo performance in Vancouver last week and is now taking an “early leave of absence from Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour.”
