Johannesberg, South Africa, Gallagher Convention Center: FINALIST "Miss Gibraltar" Kaiane Aldorino has been crowned as Miss World 2009 and given the title "Beauty With a Purpose" along with an approximately $500,000 cash prize.
The Third place went to Miss South Africa. Second place went to Miss Mexico.
Miss World 2008 put the crown on Miss Gibraltar as the 59th Miss World 2009.
The other finalists were Miss Columbia, Miss Panama, Miss Canada, Miss Mexico, Miss South Africa and Miss France.
During the Question Answer round, Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino was asked where would she take her family in Johannesburg? She replied that she would take her family to a lot of places in Africa and with in Johannesburg she would take them to the Lions Park.
The pageant judges included Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra who is a former Miss World 2000 herself. When asked to comment on the pageant, she said, I am more nervous than the contestants."
Vietnam is the venue pf the next which will be the 60th Miss World pageant.
