Seven suspects of Mumbai attacks were indicted by the Pakistan court today.
The seven suspects are Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Shahid Jamil Riaz, Hammad Amin Sadiq, Jamil Ahmed and Younus Anjum.
A lawyer for one of the seven men charged with taking part in the Mumbai attacks said they had pleaded not guilty.
“The statements recorded and the evidence produced against the accused are contradictory to the charges,” lawyer Shahbaz Rajput told Reuters.
India has refused to resume peace talks with Pakistan and sought to bring international pressure on Islamabad to act against terrorists operating from its soil, including Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LT), the militant outfit blamed for masterminding the Mumbai attacks.
Washington wants relations between the neighbours to improve so Islamabad can focus on fighting terrorists. (Mamosa + Reuters)
