MELBOURNE: Leg-spinner Danish Kaneria is doubtful to play in the first Test match beginning here tomorrow between Australia and Pakistan whereas unfit Umar Gul may be replaced by fast bowler Abdul Rauf in the final eleven for the Melbourne Test.
While talking with Geo News, captain of the national team Mohammad Yousuf told that Kaneria is so far suffering from finger injury. Doctors have allowed him to play with a tap on his finger but international laws do not allow it.
He said that Saeed Ajmal has been included in his place but the final decision would be made before the match.
Regarding the wicket, Yousuf said that the wicket to be used at the MCG has already been made and installed three days ago.
The team for the first Test would comprise the following probable players:
Mohammad Yousuf (captain), Salman Butt, Imran Farhat, Faisal Iqbal, Umar Akmal, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Abdul Rauf, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamir and Saeed Ajmal. (News sourced from: TheNews)
