The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reportedly constituted a team for the arrest of Saif-ur-Rehman, former chairman of NAB through the Interpol.

According to GEO News citing unknown sources, the Director General FIA Mr. Zafarullah Khan has formed a team for the arrest of Saif-ur-Rehman, ex-senator and former chairman of National Accountability Bureau.

Saifur Rehman appeared Monday on Meray Mutabiq talk show and explained his role in pursuing corruption charges against President Zardari and late Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto and in the process uncovered several secret Swiss and other bank accounts and front corporations held by them.

Interpol, taking notice on the request of FIA, has ordered the arrest of Rehman from Qatar, Geo News claimed.

Red warrant section of Interpol has started necessary action against the former chairman of NAB. He is no more able to travel freely, the report claimed. The channel did not explain why the FIA wants Rehman arrested and brought back to Pakistan.

According to reports, Rehman under a plea bargain with the NAB during Gen (R) Musharraf’s regime had got out of jail and left the country. Charges against him were reportedly dropped.
