Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff Hassan Firouzabadi said Monday that the United States and Israel are seeking to undermine Pakistani sovereignty, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
The Pakistani people and officials should get united and stand against the plots hatched by the U.S. and the Zionist regime of Israel, Firouzabadi was quoted as saying.
“Americans neglect the basic rights of the Pakistani nation and government and want to impose (more) capitulation on Pakistan as (they have done in) the last 50 years,” said Firouzabadi.
He said, through such plots the U.S. is weakening Pakistani’s army, according to the report.
While Pakistan has given the American Army bases and logistic support as well as intelligence sharing but the U.S. is demanding more from Islamabad that has given rise to the dissatisfaction of the Defense and Foreign Ministries of Pakistan.
The U.S. has demanded for granting the U.S. military and auxiliary personnel in Pakistan of a status that accords with the technical and administrative staff of the U.S. embassy so that these personnel be allowed to enter and exit Pakistan on mere National Identification; that is, without any visas.
The U.S. criminal jurisdiction be applicable in Pakistan to U.S nationals, this is another demand by the U.S. officials which is termed by Pakistani observers as “U.S. yearning for Pak capitulation.”
